We want our guests to enjoy their stay in privacy. That’s why Vrbo only supports private vacation rental spaces, not shared spaces. Shared vacation rental spaces with hosts or other guests are not allowed. 

When listing a vacation rental on Vrbo, hosts must offer: 

• A private indoor living space: guests must have exclusive use of the inside of the vacation rental. It can’t be shared with the host or anyone outside their group. The host may only enter in very limited situations, as described in the Guest Privacy & Host Entry Policy.
• A secure and separate entrance for guests: guests must have their own entrance that does not go through the host’s private area. It must have a lock that only guests control, so they decide who can enter. 

Some shared areas are allowed: 

• Outdoor areas, such as a yard or garage, or amenities, such as a laundry room, recreation area, or community pool – these are allowed if disclosed on the property description page. 
• Common hallways or entry areas, such as in an apartment or condo building. 

Certain types of vacation rentals, such as micro studios and bed and breakfasts, may have shared kitchens and bathrooms. These may be allowed if that setup is normal for that type of property and the shared amenities are clearly explained in the listing description. 

If we are made aware of a possible violation of this policy, we will investigate and take appropriate action, including suspension or termination.
